Adolescent Consultation for your dog
Your dog in puberty
A new pet, a new playmate, a new roommate. It takes time getting used to. This applies to you, but of course also to your dog. We would like to support you in this. Puppies receive their last vaccination at the age of 12 weeks. If your puppy is healthy and has no complaints, the next visit to your vet is at 1 year of age for his annual vaccination. In the meantime, a lot is happening in your dog’s life. We understand that you may have questions at a certain point. That is why we offer an adolescent consultation for you and your dog at the age of 6 months.
What is an adolescent consultation for your dog?
During the adolescent consultation, we observe and analyse the following:
- the growth
- the nutritional condition
- the prevention of fleas, ticks and worms
- the teeth
- the coat and nails
- the socialization
- health insurance
- the behaviour
- the possibilities of spaying and/or neutering
- all possible questions you may have as an owner!
It is also possible to do a titer test at this age. This will determine whether the vaccinations have been successful and whether your dog has built up sufficient antibodies. It sometimes happens that a dog does not build up enough antibodies from its 12-week vaccination. In that case the protection is insufficient and we will, in consultation with you, vaccinate your dog again.
